Choosing Wells Primary & Nursery School

There are many reasons to choose to send your child/children to Wells-Next-The-Sea Primary and Nursery School! We do hope you’ll like what you see on our website and do pop along and visit us – it’s always good to see first-hand the school in action. Please do give us a ring and arrange a visit as both Mrs Norman (Deputy Headteacher) or myself, would love to welcome you into school and show you around.

We very much pride ourselves on our community and positive ethos and atmosphere in school. We work very closely as a team with both the community, parents and governors to provide the best provision we can for our children, enabling them to have many opportunities both within and outside the school day. Here are just a few reasons why you might like to attend this school and be part of the vibrant team, where Together Everyone does Achieve More!

• Welcoming staff and governors
• Vibrant and varied curriculum both inside and outside the school building
• Exciting woodland sessions and learning every week
• Daily Mile and a great choice of sports/PE events to attend both in school and at APHS (our local High School)
• High ratio of staff to children to support our younger children in Nursery, Reception and Year 1
• Science, catering, computing and art workshops for our very able children at APHS and Hellesdon High Schools
• A large selection of lunchtime and after school clubs for all our children to access
• Termly educational visits to local and national places of interest, including singing with 8000 other children at the O2 in London
• A values based curriculum where we explicitly teach our children about life-long values and the British values
• A variety of visitors into school who can bring a range of cultures and different traditions into our school day
• A very active and effective Parents Association who have raised £1000’s of pounds to develop our outdoor learning spaces
• A school where Reading is at the heart of all our learning: where we learn to read and read to learn
• We are an active school in our local community where children regularly visit Scarborough House and Dorrington House
• We run a variety of nurture and mediation sessions to support and help children who need an extra bit of TLC
• We have superb partnerships with Wells Maltings and Holkham Estate – children love to visit these places and learn in our local community
